Feast of St. Bartholomew

Thy friends, O God, are made exceedingly honorable; their principality is exceedingly strengthened. (Psalm) Lord, Thou hast proved me and known me: Thou hast known my sitting down and my rising up. Glory be to the Father... Thy friends, O God...

For dinner this evening, in honor of St. Bartholomew, and in fine Zmirak-ian fashion, we ate...

Any guesses?

Meanwhile, certain grandparents seem to want to see pictures of their grandchildren. So here you are:

Tommy rolls up his sleeves just like his Father. Both of them look older everytime I see them. Is this a new form of Dominic's bookcase job?

Thank you for the pics ... those two are unbelievable! I don't think there is anyone cuter! Is Tommy crawling yet?

Dear John!
Accidentally I found Your blog. I like it very very much. How is life in Trumau? and Fr. Juraj? and Dagny? and Your family? Fr. Tomas

Good guess! We had potatoe skins and baked chicken breasts (so that we could skin them ourselves at the table :)

Dear Fr. Tomas,

Greetings! Welcome to the Joy Family blog, I'm glad that you like it. Life in Trumau is very good, despite the fact that the renovations on the schloss progress ever so slowly. Soon, though, hopefully, we'll really be able to start moving things in and setting up for the year.

Fr. Juraj, I'm afraid, I haven't seen very much of. He has been in the UK these past weeks so that Katie can do some training for the Good Shepherd catechesis. He's going to be here, though, tomorrow, and will offer the Divine Liturgy at the schloss.

Dagny just arrived today from Belgium. Her flat in the schloss is finally reayd for her to move in, and she seemed delighted to be back. We had her over to our flat this evening to join our celebration in honor of St. Louis IX, King of France, whose feast we celebrate today. She seemed very happy to drink (French wine, of course) to his eternal memory with us.

I hope that we'll hear from you from time to time!

Pax Christi,
John
